Quick Start Guide
This is a step-by-step Guide how to begin a work in TrafMeter. You should be familiar with TCP/IP technologies to create rules for a traffic counting. However, to better understand a conception of TrafMeter we provide this Guide. Assume that our goal is to monitor traffic from your PC to your proxy-server 192.168.190.11.
- Install WinPcap driver and reboot your PC. Start TrafMeter and select a network adapter (in other words, select a captured device for IP packets):

- Invoke a Filter Manager by clicking
button on the toolbar
- In the Filter Manager click on a button Add filter... to create a new filter
- The Filter Editor will be invoked. Click on a button Add rule... to create a counting rule in the filter
- In the Rule Editor select My computer in the Source address combobox and A specific IP address in the Destination address combobox. Type IP address of your proxy server (e.g., 192.168.190.11) and click on OK button
- Make sure that the new rule has been appeared in the list of rules in the Filter Editor. Click on OK button to return to the Filter Manager
- Click on the Start button and make some traffic from your PC to target server (192.168.190.11)
